Job overview

The Governing body of Copthall School are seeking to appoint an exceptional new Deputy Headteacher to play an important role in the day to day running of this popular and well established all girls Secondary School and sixth form in North West London.

Copthall offers the rare opportunity of single-sex education for students of all abilities and coupled with Ofsted’s judgment of Copthall being “Good with Outstanding features”, it is not surprising that the school continues to be very oversubscribed.

Key objectives of the role include contributing to the formulation of School aims and objectives, monitoring progress whilst managing staff and resources to achieve these strategic goals. In addition to deputising for the Headteacher and being a key contributor in the day to day efficient and effective running of the school, you will play a major role in whole school decision making and problem solving.

At Copthall you will see students who love learning and are engaged in a wide range of learning activities inside and outside the classroom, whilst fostering their ambition, qualities and aptitudes to be successful leaders as adults.

As the ideal candidate you will have:

  • A proven track record of management and leadership and translating strategy in to effective improvement actions
  • The ability to anticipate and innovate, inspire and motivate both students and staff
  • A proven ability to collect and analyse complex quantitative and qualitative data
  • A proven ability to implement improvement actions with impact
  • An ability to think and act strategically
  • A commitment to your own continuing professional development
  • A secure and effective knowledge of educational statutory frameworks and governance
  • An ability to make decisions and solve problems creatively and effectively
  • An ability to manage a demanding workload and remain resilient
  • A commitment to inclusion, equality and comprehensive education

We would urge candidates to visit the School prior to an application so that we can answer questions you may have and so that you can engage with our culture and vision for the School.
