Forest Hill School is a thriving and aspirational comprehensive school in south-east London, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in January 2024. We provide high-quality education to boys aged 11-18 and we are a community that is wholly reflective of this district of London, teaching pupils from all backgrounds and of all abilities. We also have a highly successful joint Sixth Form provision with Sydenham School for male and female students.
A broad and comprehensive curriculum is taught in modern facilities by dedicated teaching staff who are passionate about their subjects and are experts in educating and inspiring pupils to achieve excellence.
We are looking to appoint a hardworking and experienced technician to support the teaching and learning provision in the Design and Food Technology departments. The successful candidate will be responsible for the ordering, preparation and maintenance of specialist equipment, tools, materials and resources.
The working hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 2.00pm, with an hour lunch break, term time only. If you have experience of working in a busy school technology department and are adept at dealing with a wide variety of tasks, this could be the role for you.
We expect all our technicians to undertake training to fulfil their role in the Expressive Arts Faculty.

Pupils study a broad and interesting curriculum. The school has carefully considered the important knowledge that they want pupils to study. In the sixth form, a wide range of A-level choices is supplemented by several different vocational qualifications. Within subjects, the chosen topics of study have been put together in a logical way. This helps pupils to build on their prior knowledge so they learn more and remember more over time. This means that, from the start, pupils are well prepared for the rigour of GCSEs and for sixth-form studies. Leaders also make sure that content is relevant and interesting for pupils.
