POST NO: CS0242P

Lincoln

Now is the time for academic leaders to be optimistic and ambitious. It is obviously true that the challenges facing the sector are perhaps greater now than at any time in our recent history. Equally, the opportunities for innovation, new ways of working and inspirational leadership in the sector have never been greater. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to provide academic leadership and to drive academic analysis, innovation and improvement across the Lincoln College. As the name would suggest, the Ofsted Outstanding Lincoln College is the strong core of the Lincoln College Group that formed in 2013, with settings in Lincoln, Newark, Gainsborough, and China. Lincoln College is also the lead sponsor of the Lincoln UTC. The Lincoln College Group additionally encompasses two secondary school academies (the Newark Academy and the Gainsborough Academy) and Deans Sport and Leisure, a commercial sports centre based in Lincoln City Centre which is open to the public 362 days of the year and has 1200 members. The Lincoln College Group also has an international business with three Colleges in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

We are seeking to attract a highly effective, innovative and ambitious academic leader to join the Lincoln College Group. You will proactively seek out development opportunities for employer based provision, creating a commercially sound offer which meets learner needs in conjunction with the business development team. You will be required to represent employer provision with stakeholders, developing effective links with key local, regional & national employers, funding agencies & bodies and community stakeholders in conjunction with the business development team. You will ensure that effective lines of communication are established within employer provision and with Business Development, Contracts Team and Marketing and develop jointly (alongside the Director of Business Development) an annual plan for employer provision which is derived from the College’s Strategic Plan, Self Assessment Process and Development Plan following consultation with staff and with the agreement of the SMT.

The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate in Education, PGCE or equivalent, a Management Qualification or equivalent and possess an appropriate degree professional qualification linked to employer based provision. You will have recent relevant experience of leading employer responsive delivery and development and have experience of performance management, appraisal and the monitoring of standards. In addition, experience of effective target setting and monitoring such that a contribution to College targets can be demonstrated and experience of self- assessment of an employer based work portfolio would be beneficial.

'Extraordinary means being exceptional, remarkable, astonishing and amazing.

None of these characteristics are a course or a programme, a building, a surplus or deficit budget, or a grade by a regulator.

These characteristics describe the thoughts, actions and behaviours of our people to achieve great things.

People who are committed to delivering everyday work to the very highest standard time and time again, who refuse to accept mediocrity or average, and people who innovate and are ingenious to create solutions to problems; and then deliver those creations.' Gary Headland - CEO Lincoln College Group
