We seek to appoint an outstanding Director of English and Literacy with an extensive and proven record in A Level teaching and innovation to rapidly move our English Faculty from Good to Outstanding. Our successful applicant will have a clear vision, be able to lead and develop the faculty at a strategic level and be able to demonstrate excellent motivational skills to inspire colleagues.

Potential applicants are actively encouraged to visit the school on either Tuesday 3 March between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm or Thursday 5 March between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm. Alternative individual arrangements for visits are by request.

Aldridge School is an academy for students of all abilities and backgrounds, aged between 11 and 19. There are 1500 students on roll. Our most recent Ofsted inspection (February 2017) rated us as Good in all areas.

We are a founder partner in the exciting newly formed Mercian Trust which comprises of two Grammar Schools, two Secondary Schools a Studio School and an alternative provision Free School.

We have an expansive site on the edge of the West Midlands, surrounded by fields with open spaces and excellent facilities. The school is a five minute walk from Aldridge village, a 10 minute drive from the M6 and as close to Walsall Town Centre. Aldridge is served by bus routes 6, 7, 7A, 936 and 997.
