Job overview
The Governors are seeking to appoint a Director of Estates & Operations to join the wider Senior Management Team. The post holder will have excellent interpersonal skills to assume responsibility for the delivery of the School’s estates strategy and to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the School’s operations, including the estates, facilities and services functions.
The successful applicant will have previous leadership experience in a similar role, together with a background in estates management, maintenance works (both planned and reactive), delivery of capital projects and budget management, health and safety oversight, as well as leading teams within catering and other support facilities, ideally in the education sector. King’s Rochester is a mixed, non-selective, Church of England, all-through school with nursery classes and sixth form situated in Rochester, Kent. It is an independent school with boarding provision and an associate member of the Woodard Foundation. A smaller than average school, King’s Rochester provides 800 places for nursery, preparatory, senior and sixth-form students between the ages of 3 and 18 when fully subscribed.
The oldest choir school and the second oldest school in the world, King’s Rochester has roots dating back to the founding of Rochester Cathedral in the year 604 AD. King Henry VIII refounded the school in 1542.
