Director of Finance and Operations

Full time, permanent, 37 hours per week   

This is a unique opportunity for an enterprising and inspirational leader to join the executive team here at Victoria Academies, a five-school multi academy trust with 1800 pupils, 350 staff and a budget close to £10m.

As a relatively new organisation now entering the next phase of our development, we are looking to appoint our inaugural Director of Finance and Operations. So this is a brand new role – and you will enjoy the freedom and autonomy to make it your own as you help us drive the strategic growth and development of the trust.

During your first 18 months, your central focus will be on financial issues and academy conversions. That will include leading the finance team, putting systems into place and ensuring that all statutory accounts and returns are completed and submitted. We will then look to you to develop the operational side of the business, driving best practice through a range of areas including procurement, contract negotiations, estate management, tendering and joint ventures.

Taking overall responsibility for the financial, corporate and commercial management of the trust, you will also oversee a range of ventures including a community interest company and the delivery of school-centred initial teacher training.

An experienced accounting professional with outstanding leadership skills and a track record of success at senior level, you should bring an enterprising approach to business development, strategy and partnerships.
