Director of Human Resources

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our outstanding college for a talented and forward-thinking Director of Human Resources.

As the Director of Human Resources, you will have the autonomy to lead and develop all aspects of the people strategy and HR operations for Joseph Chamberlain College.

As part of this role, you will also lead the development and implementation of plans, processes, and other initiatives to recruit, develop and retain the College’s exceptionally talented workforce. The role is wide ranging in nature and requires a strategic thinker who is comfortable providing operational oversight in a fast-paced environment, and who is determined to seek innovative solutions to workforce challenges in the education sector. Therefore, we are seeking an experienced and well qualified professional.

You will be expected to work closely with the Principal and CEO and will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, developing policies and practices to ensure that the quality of HR support at the College is maintained to the highest possible standard.

Situated within easy reach of Birmingham City Centre, we are a highly successful and vibrant College, having been graded as ‘outstanding’ in all categories once again in December 2023 by Ofsted.

Our College excels in providing a broad, inclusive and high-quality education to all of our learners, which has resulted in some of the highest levels of progression to Higher Education in the sector. In 2023, students at Joseph Chamberlain College achieved excellent exam results, as they have done for many years.

You will be working in a state-of-the-art building with superbly equipped classrooms and facilities, and continue to grow in size due to demand.

The salary for this post will be circa £60,000 per annum, FTE.

The hours of work will be full-time, 36.5 hours per week, all year round. (Part-time contract of 0.8 FTE may be considered).
