Ormiston Horizon Academy became the most improved school in Stoke-on-Trent and the third most improved school in the U.K. 2012 (5 A* to C) GCSE English and Math’s.

We are seeking an outstanding and inspirational practitioner who is either working at or has experience of a leadership role within a core department. As Lead Teacher and Director of Progress for Science, you will play a key role in the leadership and management of the department in improving progress and attainment and developing the capability of the department.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • raising standards for student attainment and progress across the key stages;
  • leading intervention in Science to secure good and outstanding progress for all our students;
  • coaching, developing and enhancing the teaching practice of others;
  • developing the subject across the academy;
  • facilitating effective transition via outreach work with primary schools.

You must be committed to the aspirational ethos and vision of the Academy and have a proven track record of improving progress and attainment for young people.
