This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with a passionate interest in children’s independent learning and a history of effective leadership within the education sector. You must be able to provide evidence of leading and managing successful curriculum innovation and programme development.

Lead the next stage of our journey

Our new Director will be ambitious and motivated to grow the programme’s reach, influence and impact. S/he will collaborate with our schools, partners and training team and increase the trusts’ visibility as a serious player within primary education in the UK. We want to use your significant aptitude for managing change, leading and inspiring others to ensure the success of this programme making a real difference for our children and young people.

The key accountabilities of the role are:

  • Developing and refining the Open Futures programme including CPD offers.
  • Managing the educational, marketing and sales aspects of Open Futures.
  • Managing strategic alliances with partner organisations – both existing and engaging new partners.
  • Raising the profile and visibility of Open Futures

The key attributes we are looking for are:

  • Excellent communicator with superb interpersonal skills, able to build relationships of trust and confidence to enable people to engage with our vision and goals.
  • The ability to engage with children, schools and community groups and to convey our vision to engage and influence policy makers, media, funders, key stakeholders and to take on speaking opportunities.
  • A confident self-starter, able to tackle issues proactively, to think strategically, stand back and problem solve for the organization
  • Commitment to the principles of diversity and equal opportunities
  • Ability to manage the finances of the organisation, ensuring budgets are well managed with appropriate levels of financial control.
  • Strong on performance management, able to delegate and to set and monitor boundaries decisively.
  • Ability to think flexibly and creatively, able to develop the vision and strategy of the organisation, to achieve ambitious aims within limited funds.
