Due to the promotion of the current Director of Learning Mathematics, the Governing Body is seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Director of Learning Mathematics to join our outstanding Maths Department. The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher, have first rate leadership skills and have the aspiration to become a senior leader.

Cardinal Newman School is an 11-19 mixed Voluntary Aided school, with 780 pupils currently on role. The school is over-subscribed in Year 7 and our role is projected to rise to over 800 in 2015. The school has an excellent reputation for both our academic results and our pastoral care. We are a Central South ‘Hub School’ offering school to school support to other schools in the consortium. We achieved 72% L2 Threshold (Including Maths and English) and 81% Maths L2 in 2014. Our GCSE Maths results are the best in the local authority and our KS3 numeracy results are first rate. We are a ‘Green School’ in the new Welsh Government banding. We consider ourselves an ‘Excellent’ school and eagerly await having this confirmed in our next inspection.
