Remuneration - circa £86,000 per annum - this appointment is offered on a permanent basis.

This appointment is offered on permanent basis or as a secondment for up to 5 years. The post is also available to permanent Civil Service employees on a lateral or promotion basis.

We are looking to appoint a Director for Schools Standards and Workforce Group in the Welsh Government's Department for Education and Skills.

The role of the Director is to drive forward consistent improvement in outcomes for school-based learners and to improve the education system in Wales - a key priority of the Welsh Government.

The Director will have the responsibility for strengthening the Welsh education system at all levels by defining responsibilities; providing accountability and challenge; and developing capability.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a substantial track record of achievement in senior management, preferably within the context of educational delivery in schools as well as a track record of leadership and the ability to work successfully in collaboration with a range of stakeholders.

The closing date for applications is 19 June 2015.
Interviews will be held at Welsh Government Offices, Cathays Park, Cardiff on Friday, 24 July, 2015.
