Job overview

In our school currently we have a number of teaching posts both for Early Years and Key Stage1 MPS/UP.

We are seeking to appoint a number of outstanding teachers to join our vibrant school at an exciting time of change and development. The successful candidates will understand and rise to the challenge of ensuring that the highest possible standards are achieved by all children regardless of their starting points. Candidates will demonstrate that they can provide a creative and high quality environment with inclusion at the heart of all learning, based on the early years principles, and will make a significant contribution to the development of teaching and learning in our caring and ambitious school.

Common Road is an Infant School with a 52 Place Nursery. Our current NOR is 150 full time children plus 47 children in nursery.


General Information

Common Road Infant and Nursery School serves the community of South Kirkby, an area of mainly social housing, ex mining history, situated in the semi- rural South East of the Wakefield area. South Kirkby Academy and Minsthorpe Secondary schools are close by.


Ethos

We are a very caring and supportive school providing a safe, secure environment where all children are valued.

Common Road has a strong staff team who support the children to reach their full potential.


Teaching and Learning

Staff have high expectations of the children and themselves. They work hard as a team to provide stimulating and high quality learning environments, they do this with enthusiasm and motivation in order to gain the best results for all children in school.
