Job overview

This is a temporary part time position (24 hours per week) duration - until 26 June in the first instance.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner for this thriving preschool provision based in Greenbank Church halls, Braidburn Terrace, Edinburgh. You will be working with a qualified teacher and a team of Early Years Practitioners providing quality education for 3-5 year olds.

You must be passionate about working with children, have knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence and GIRFEC and be aware of the importance of parental participation. You must be able to communicate effectively with children, colleagues, parents and other agencies.

Minimum qualifications required are HNC Child Care and Education or SVQ level 3 Children's Care Learning and Development or equivalent. Applicants should either be registered with Scottish Social Services Council prior to employment or in a position to register within 6 months of appointment.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
