Madison International School is a mixed non-denominational all-through school situated in the city of Monterrey, the largest city in the north east Mexican state of Nuevo Léon. It is a state school and part of the Madison Group of Schools, a set of Mexican international schools in different areas of the country, from Chihuahua to Torreon. Madison International and all other Madison Schools pride themselves on being truly bilingual, teaching students to read, write and interact in both English and Spanish from as early as kindergarten level up to junior high.

Madison International School was one of the latter schools set up as part of the Madison Group. The first school was also based in Monterrey, established as Madison Bilingual School of Monterrey in spring 1978 to provide school provision to the Monterrey area and began teaching only 36 students, a number that has grown by over 10 times over the years. Madison International School itself formed in 2007. While some Madison Schools already have the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, Madison International is currently applying for it, although it was approved by the IBO to supply the primary school programme (PEP) in 2011.

Values and Vision

The mission statement of Madison Group of Schools is to develop students into young people with good behaviour, a high level of academic achievement and a wide range of skills to assist their critical thinking. It considers education to be a gradual progress and must always revolve around a student’s needs. It believes all students have the potential to give positive attributes to the wider world in future.
