The successful candidate will be expected to maintain the electrical systems and equipment at all of the college’s premises as required, carry out planned maintenance works and proactive and reactive repairs covering all areas of electrical services.

You will be expected to identify and prioritise both areas of planned and non-planned work, carry out emergency repairs to electrical breakdowns and to be part of the duty estates rota for out of hours call out.

NVQ Level 4 or City & Guilds ‘C’ certificate in electrical work, IEE electrical regulations 17th Edition and C & G testing and inspection (or to complete within one year) are all essential qualifications for this role, along with trade experience in electrical work.

Walsall College is a mixed, further education school located in the Borough of Walsall. The college accepts students 16 years and older, and is the largest educational qualification provider for 14 - 19 year olds in the borough. Established in 1952, Walsall College now has over 4,000 full time students, with its part-time students being more than twice that figure.

Walsall College is primarily a vocational school, offering a diverse selection of study areas such as teaching support, pharmacy services skills, hospice care, plumbing, electrical installations, beauty therapy, hairdressing, signmaking, and more.

The Green Lane Campus in particular focuses on construction and engineering, with simulated workshops for painting, decorating and carpentry.
