Job overview

Bank View is a special school for students with a range of special educational needs, which can include ASD, ADHD, and complex learning difficulties. We are based over 3 sites in Liverpool; Fazakerley, Croxteth and Speke. We are a successful school looking to appoint an English and Communication Lead at our Long Lane site but with the flexibility to work across all Bank View sites.

In 2019 OFSTED rated us outstanding in all areas. ‘This is a happy school. There is genuine warmth between the pupils and staff. Relationships are strong, and staff know each pupil exceptionally well’. The school has the National Autistic Society’s charter mark.

The successful candidate will be energetic, creative  and highly motivated, with the ability to lead change with creativity and innovation. They will have excellent understanding of the subjects and provisions included within the communication curriculum and the ability to form strong, positive relationships with students and staff.

Bank View is part of the HEARTS project which seeks to achieve better outcomes for our students and their families and enhance the lives of communities across Liverpool. As a school we are passionate about working with other professionals to address the critical issues of attachment and trauma for the benefit of our whole learning community.

Experience of working within in an SEN setting is desirable but not essential.

Please review the job description and person specification, if you would like to apply for the role.

We would welcome visits from prospective candidates. Please email Helen Evans, HR Manager, h.evans@bankview.liverpool.sch.uk to arrange a time to visit.
