Stroud, King Edward VI Preparatory School, is a thriving and happy co-ed independent school for pupils from Nursery to Year 6, and is the feeder school to King Edward VI, Southampton. The prep school enjoys the many benefits of being part of a 3-18 organisation whilst retaining a unique identity as a rural school with a strong family feel.

Our ethos is to nurture and support our pupils, so that they flourish and exceed their expectations in their learning, interests, relationships and emotional development. Our goal is that they become intellectually curious, resilient, confident and ready for their next steps.

Pupils have access to a wide range of high quality learning resources at Stroud including a well-stocked library, science laboratory, IT suites, cookery, art, technology and music rooms. Interactive whiteboards, iPads, virtual reality headsets and green screens also enhance pupils’ learning.

Stroud is a warm and welcoming place to work and develop as an individual and leader. We encourage staff to take on positions of responsibility and value our staff highly for going above and beyond to support the wider life of the school.

Due to our rural location we cannot easily be accessed by public transport, so staff do need their own transport. On site parking is available.

Stroud School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
