Certified by the French Ministry of Education to provide teachers and programs in French public schools in the areas of English Language & Literature and History & Geography, ASEICA is a pioneering association that has been providing bilingual education on the French Riviera for over thirty years in and around the Sophia Antipolis Technological Park.
We are present in seven teaching establishments with nearly 1,700 international pupils, from primary level (age 6) through middle and high school (up to age 18).
Academic standards are high and many of our "Option Internationale Baccalauréat" students go on to top universities in England, USA, Canada and elsewhere in the world. We also provide university guidance counseling to our high school students. Many of the students in the program are native English speakers.
We are seeking a fully qualified English Language Arts teacher at the middle school level. This is a permanent full-time (18 contact hours per week) position.
Requirements:
- Native English speaker (providing education to mother-tongue English and French speakers and to a multi-lingual international student body)
- University diploma (B.A. minimum level required) in English Language and Literature and full teacher certification/qualification (PGCE, HDip, US state certification or equivalent); qualification obtained in an English-speaking country.
- Legally able to work in France and/or the EU highly desired
- Minimum three years' teaching experience in the subject area preferred
- Desire to work within an international educational community
- Awareness of the needs of an international, multilingual and multicultural student body
- Sound knowledge of French preferred, together with an interest in French culture
- OIB, IB, AP, or A level examining experience desired
- Ability to teach in more than one subject area desired (i.e. History- Geography, Theater, etc.), but not mandatory
