Job overview

Priory is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist education and care for a reason. We create safe, positive and caring environments that bring out the very best in children with autism, behavioural problems and learning difficulties. That takes excellent resources, of course. But what really makes the difference is the quality and commitment of our people – and perhaps nowhere are those strengths more apparent than at Unsted Park School.

So isn’t it time you joined us?

Our specialist residential and day school/6th Form college caters for children and young people with high functioning autism and associated conditions such as OCD, ADHD and SpLD. Working holistically, we actively encourage each student’s functional skills, independent learning and behavioural development with a full therapeutic approach that includes, occupational therapy, art therapy, a child psychologist and a dedicated Speech and Language department.

As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will teach English to Key Stages 3 to 5, incorporating Functional Skills and GCSE accredited courses. It’s a role that calls for proven experience in devising and delivering bespoke programmes of learning. Practical involvement in teaching young people with additional learning needs would be an advantage, and you will ideally have a good understanding of autism and associated conditions too. Certainly, the ability to work flexibly and adapt to the specific needs of your students is essential. Add to that your excellent communication and collaborative skills, and you will quickly establish yourself as a vital part of our team.

The rewards are attractive and could include an additional TLR allowance for Faculty leadership for the right candidate. You will also be joining us at a time of ongoing expansion, so your ongoing career development options and long-term prospects will be second to none.
