Tes is supporting the appointment of a English Teacher to join a High School for Girls based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The North East’s leading independent girls’ day school has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and inspirational English Teacher to join their English Department. 

All teaching staff at NHSG have high expectations of young people; they are committed to ensuring that the pupils in their care can achieve their full educational and personal potential and to establishing respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with them. 

The English curriculum at NHSG is based on a love of English Literature and the development of skill in self-expression in all its forms. The English Department at NHSG a successful department and they have a thriving A Level cohort. They are seeking a teacher who is passionate about developing intellectual curiosity in English lessons across every age group. They will be driven by the highest standards of teaching and learning and will enjoy working in a highly collaborative team. They are looking for someone who can combine creativity and rigour in their teaching of English, as well as promoting an enjoyment of English through their co-curricular programme. They already provide extensive opportunities beyond the classroom including creative writing, debating, reading, Scrabble and film clubs. They would be looking for someone who could add to the co-curricular activities on offer for their students.
