About the role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring specialist teacher to lead our brand-new Enhanced Resource Provision (ERP) opening early 2024-25 academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating individualised teaching and learning programs for children with moderate learning difficulties.

We are looking for someone who:

·        Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

·        Specialist experience in teaching pupils with MLD in a primary school setting

·        Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum and its application to pupils with MLD

·        Proven ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues, parents and external agencies to support pupils with MLD

·        Strong organisational, planning and time management skills

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in an accessible manner

·        Demonstrable experience in planning, implementing and evaluating individualised learning programmes for pupils with MLD

·        Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policy and practice relating to pupils with MLD.

 All staff are expected to know what to do if they have concerns about a child, take on the responsibility for providing a safe environment and promoting children’s welfare, undertake regular safeguarding and child protection training and, familiarise themselves with KCSIE part 1 and local policies and procedures as directed by the trust/academy.
