Executive Principal

 L37 – L43

 To start September 2024

Waverley Education Foundation (WEF) is a Multi Academy Trust, which operates both Waverley School and Waverley Studio College. It develops, brokers and delivers a range of services which support learning, leadership and management and improve outcomes for children and young people.

Waverley School is an all through school for pupils aged 4-19. It also has a resource base for pupils with cognition and learning difficulties. Waverley Studio College is a specialist academy catering for 14 – 19 year old pupils, which offers both academic and vocational qualifications. WEF has over 1900 pupils. Within the trust, we aim to create an environment which allows everyone to develop mutual respect for each other and a respect for learning.

This is an exciting time to join WEF. We continue to be over-subscribed and popular within the local community. We have state of the art facilities for learning, teaching and training, and a strong staff team committed to the learning and development of all our pupils. Through our school improvement plans the schools continue to develop, and we expect to see good results again this summer.

Following the retirement of the current Executive Principal, the Board of Trustees are looking to appoint a highly motivated and committed individual as the new Executive Principal of the trust.

The Executive Principal will work closely with the Board of Trustees and will have responsibility for the leadership and management of both Waverley School and Waverley Studio College. These responsibilities include the strategic development of the schools and their relationship with the local community, as well as their complex day-to-day operation through our senior leaders and staff team.

The ideal candidate will share our determination to continue to provide an outstanding education for our young people without exception or bias. They

will be enthusiastic, motivated and have a proven track record of effective leadership. They will need to be high achieving and self-motivating, and capable of playing a major role in further developing teaching and learning within the trust. The Executive Principal role requires strong people management skills, empathy and excellent inter-personal and communication skills.

The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Shortlisted candidates will be subject to online checks in line with ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’

We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion. Only applications submitted on the application form will be accepted.

Waverley Education Foundation is committed to the protection and safety of its pupils.

Informal visits to Waverley Education Foundation are warmly welcomed. Please contact our HR department on 0121 566 6607 to arrange.

The closing date for applications is 10.00am on Thursday 11 April 2024.

If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of the closing date, please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
