Job overview

The Cabot Learning Federation is the largest non-diocesan academy group in the South West.

We currently sponsor 12 academies, seven of which are secondary and five are primary. We also have a discrete Post 16 provision, located across five of our sites in the East Bristol/South Gloucestershire area, and a cross-phase re-engagement centre serving the same area.

In September 2015, the range of provision will increase with the opening of Digitech Studio School Bristol in Warmley and the conversion of King’s Oak Academy, currently 11-19, into the CLF’s first 3-19 all through provision.

We have a successful track record of performance delivery across all of our Academies and we are seeking inspirational individuals to:

  • Lead a group of primary Principals through the development and implementations of key strategies, and performance management, to deliver outstanding pupil outcomes and excellent leadership;
  • With senior colleagues and Board members, design and contribute to strategic plans to deliver CLF’s aims;
  • Through outstanding results and raising the profile, establish the CLF as a recognised national leader in the Education sector.

Naturally engaging, your vision of how services can be transformed combined with your highly-developed influencing skills and a successful delivery track record will be underpinned by personal resilience and an ability to thrive in a high profile leadership role. Already an Executive Principal or Principal with a credible track record, you will enjoy being part of an ambitious, highly motivated team.

All applications will be acknowledged. There is a nominal closing date for this role of Executive Principal, however candidates are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible, as preliminary discussions may begin as soon as expressions of interest are received

The CLF is a partnership of schools that is sponsored by Rolls Royce PLC and The University of the West of England (UWE). It now sponsors twelve academies in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Weston super Mare and Bath. This means that we are responsible and accountable for the education over 6,000 students between the ages of 4 and 19 and for the employment and support of over 1,000 staff.

Our vision is based upon our mission of "collaboration for outstanding achievement" and the work that is now shared between our schools at senior and middle leadership level, teachers and support staff underpins this every day. All of our staff are employed by the CLF and this enables us to give colleagues the opportunity to work in more than one academy either for their own development or because the skills that they have are needed by more than one of our schools.
