About Hall School Wimbledon - Junior School (Beavers Holt)

About Hall School Wimbledon

SPIRIT OF THE SCHOOL

We believe in the ALL ROUND CHILD, who leaves us with self-esteem and self-confidence intact and resilient, in whom the qualities of LOYALTY, KINDNESS, HONESTY, DUTY, TOLERANCE AND CONSIDERATION are paramount.

We believe in GOOD MANNERS, that children should at all times be COURTEOUS and THOUGHTFUL towards each other and those whom they meet and those with whom they have dealings.

We believe in PHYSICAL FITNESS and in the striving for excellence in sporting endeavour.

We believe in COMPETITION, conducted within the rules of a game and with sportsmanship and equality.

We believe in the INDIVIDUALITY of the child, that each child should be encouraged and treated fairly according to his or her range of abilities and his or her particular needs.

We believe in EQUALITY of opportunity and treatment between the sexes, different age groups, nationalities, creeds and levels of ability.

We believe in AMBITION and HARD WORK as honourable and vital qualities to human beings.

We believe that THOUGHT is the most important activity in which our pupils engage.

We believe in INDEPENDENCE and SELF RELIANCE, that children should be trained to look after themselves and others, to cope and hold their own, in any situation.

We believe that children should be taught the skills of PERSONAL ORGANISATION so that their progress is not hindered through inefficiency and their life is managed so that they may derive maximum benefit from all that is put their way.

We believe in HAPPINESS, firmly rooted in the child’s belief that he or she is APPRECIATED, LOVED and UNDERSTOOD.

We consider that these aspirations and qualities can only be secured within a balanced and managed environment where the culture of the school reinforces rather than corrupts. It is our duty to ENABLE and not to hinder, to ENCOURAGE and not indoctrinate so that the child’s potential may be wholly realised, while he or she remains happy at school.
