Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Inclusion Teacher to join our team and work with our students who have special needs (SEN). The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Head of Inclusion to provide specialized support and guidance to students with SEN in grades PreK-5. This role involves collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and external support services to develop and implement tailored learning plans that meet the unique needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver individualized instruction and support to students with SEN, adapting teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate students with SEN into mainstream classroom activities and ensure their inclusion in all aspects of school life.
  • Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths, weaknesses, and areas for development, using this information to inform the creation of personalized learning goals and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, regularly reviewing and adjusting individual education plans (IEPs) in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and support to classroom teachers on effective strategies for differentiation and inclusion, promoting a culture of diversity and acceptance within the school community.
  • Work closely with parents/carers to establish effective communication channels and foster collaborative partnerships in support of students' educational and emotional well-being.
  • Keep abreast of best practices and developments in the field of special education, participating in professional development opportunities and sharing knowledge with colleagues.


To be considered for the role you must have: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Special Education

OR

  • PGCE or equivalent qualification in Education and a SEN Diploma
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in SEN teaching 
  • A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check
