Job overview

The Role

As the founding Finance Business Partner, you will work with the Chief Financial Officer, central team, and schools to provide management accounting information and advice on how to best use their financial resources. You will enjoy working alongside our schools, and being a trusted expert advisor as much you enjoy being a number cruncher!

You will also be key to statutory accounting and budgeting, using your knowledge of our schools to ensure they are accurate and meet legislative requirements. You may be experienced in all of these areas, and looking for a fresh challenge, or looking to progress your career.

Whatever your background, you will be resilient and as enthusiastic as we are about the future of our Trust, appreciate the privilege of making a key contribution to setting the scene for the future success of our Trust, and be able to see the bigger picture.

About us

Mater Ecclesiae is a new and growing Catholic Multi Academy Trust in Preston, Lancashire. We currently consist of seven primary schools and one secondary school. In line with the Bishop’s vision for schools across the Diocese of Lancaster we are due to grow to thirteen schools before the end of the calendar year; when fully formed we will consist of twenty primary and three secondary schools.

As part of our growth plan, we are now looking to appoint our first Finance Business Partner. You will provide our Schools with concise and informative financial information, which is crucial to their financial sustainability.

The successful candidate will be appointed under the terms and conditions of a CES contract which they will be required to sign. The employer will be the Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Multi Academy Trust. Applications must be made on the CES/Mater Ecclesiae Support Staff application form.

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974(Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013), If successful you will be required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a ‘Disclosure.’ Information provided by you or the Disclosure and barring Service will be dealt with in a confidential manner in accordance with the DBS’s Code of Practice.
