Dulwich College Beijing, established in 2005, is a dynamic, high-performing, co-educational independent school catering for 1450 children aged 1 – 18 from forty-five different countries across six continents. The College comprises three schools, each with its own Headteacher: Early Years, Junior School and Senior School. We offer an enhanced English National Curriculum in Foundation Stage, and Key Stages 1, 2 and 3, International GCSEs in KS4 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in KS5. We are situated in the capital city of the second largest and fastest growing economy in the world, 45 minutes from both the Great Wall and Tiananmen Square. We were awarded British International School of the Year in 2011 and in March 2014 were inspected by the British-based Independent Schools Inspectorate, ISI, who reported that ‘The quality of the pupils’ achievements is excellent, reflecting the successful fulfillment of the school’s aims. The school develops confidence in its pupils, enabling them to apply their skills and talents across the curriculum. Pupils’ attitudes to learning are exemplary. Pupils listen attentively and take great pride in their work. DCB 1526 Foundation and KS1 Music Teacher required from August 2015

An opportunity to join our outstanding team of dedicated Foundation Stage and KS1 educators who engage children in a creative, child-initiated curriculum that is well planned, stimulating and inspires them to achieve high standards of attainment. As a key member of our cross-college Music department, you will be responsible for ensuring that all children in our Early Years (from age 2 – 7) develop a love for music and skills that will enable them to listen and perform with knowledge, skills and enthusiasm.

When you visit our Early Years campuses at DCB you will see children highly engaged and learning actively through problem solving and creative thinking. Accommodation at both campuses is welcoming, safe and facilitates educational provision that combines the very best of innovation and tradition. In March 2014 ISI reported that ‘Early Years provision (including KS1) is excellent. Each setting is extremely well resourced, and constructive use of space, even when not purpose-built, provides suitable working facilities.... Excellent teaching methods are employed … staff enthusiasm and their exemplary adherence to the tenets of early years practice is reflected in high quality planning based on the children’s interests.’

Application Procedure

Applications are invited from well-qualified graduates to teach in Dulwich College Beijing.

Students sit IGCSEs in Year 11 and the IB Diploma in Year 13. All teachers are expected to make a contribution to the co-curricular life of the school.
