Job overview

WATFORD GRAMMAR SCHOOL FOR BOYS

A leading UK State School for boys aged 11-18 with a national reputation for academic excellence

Ofsted Outstanding – October 2021

Required for September 2024

Full or Part Time Teacher of Computer Science M1 – UPS3 (FTE £31,350 - £47,839)

with an option to take on responsibility for Technology & Innovation (TLR 2.3 £5,351)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, well-qualified specialist to teach at all levels within an expanding and forward-looking department. The opportunity to take on added responsibility for Technology & Innovation within the department and wider school is optional.

Computing has increased in popularity and plays an important part in the academic success and wider cultural life of the school. Over 350 students currently study Computing at GCSE and A Level.  This role provides an excellent opportunity for candidates to teach A level, if desired, but this is not essential. Examination results are excellent and the subject enjoys a high status.  The role is not suitable for ECTs.

For a successful candidate we are able to support the completion of an MA. The admissions policy prioritises children of staff in accordance with the admission arrangements. Subsidised staff accommodation may be available.

Further information is available on our website at https://www.watfordboys.org/48/job-vacancies. Completed application forms should be sent to Ian Cooksey, Headmaster, head@watfordboys.org.  The school is committed to safeguarding children and young people. All post holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS Check. The closing date for applications is Monday 15th April 9am.
