The funding specialist leads for the association on all policy aspects of school and college funding. We are ideally looking for someone with senior leadership experience and a secure knowledge and understanding of education funding, both at a strategic level related to national funding issues and at an individual institution level. Experience of curriculum design, staffing and timetabling is desirable but not essential. This post supports ASCL’s funding committee and our post-16 committee. The postholder meets with and influences senior officials from the DfE, Treasury, EFA, SFA etc.

The funding specialist will be expected to support our members through case work, deliver high quality courses for ASCL PD (the independent professional development arm of ASCL), write responses to national consultations, have a media presence and cultivate relationships with senior colleagues in government departments, special advisors, national organisations, think tanks etc.

We offer an exceptionally generous pension scheme, to which the association contributes 14.1% and we are a Gold Standard Investor in People with accordingly excellent conditions of service. The post is home-based but with an expectation of significant travel within the UK.
