How well can you "speak" Geography? You will certainly have subject knowledge but what’s your grammar and vocabulary of Geography like? How could you bring the subject to life? We’re looking for a Geography Teacher, to start from September 2015, who can awaken our students’ curiosity in the world around them and create a “need to know”.
You will be a great story teller with a strong imagination who can infuse your love of Geography into your lessons to spike student interest, making it real and relevant. You will have the skill, knowledge and ability to take our students on a globetrotting adventure, dipping into the different lives of people, cultures and landscapes in such a vivid way that they will have more than just a high regard for Geography by the end of it. Your insight and geographic literacy will help shape them as the critical thinkers and globally minded individuals of tomorrow who will appreciate Geography as a subject which holds the key to the future of society.
We are interested in applications from teachers, who will be able to raise levels of achievement within our highly successful Global Studies Faculty; who have excellent knowledge of Geography at KS3, KS4 and KS5; who have a commitment to teaching Geography to A Level and an interest in developing their career, including NQTs. TLR2a is potentially available for the role of Assistant Faculty Leader of Global Studies based on the skills of applicant.
