We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our PE Department as a Girls Games Coach. This role requires a passion for empowering girls through sports, coupled with experience in football and proficiency in teaching various sports.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching Girls' Sports: Lead and facilitate instructional sessions for girls' sports activities, with a focus on promoting skill development, teamwork, and a love for physical activity.
2. Collaboration with PE and Football Departments: Work collaboratively PE Coordinator and football coaches to ensure a cohesive approach to physical education. Provide support and expertise in integrating girls into football programs.
3. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the girls' games curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational objectives and promoting inclusivity and diversity.
4. Skill Enhancement: Identify opportunities for individual skill enhancement and provide targeted coaching to support girls in their athletic development.
5. Promotion of Physical Activity: Encourage and motivate girls to participate actively in sports and physical activities both within and outside of school hours, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
6. Safety and Well-being: Prioritise the safety and well-being of students during sports activities, adhering to established safety protocols and providing appropriate supervision.
7. Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open and effective communication with students, colleagues, parents, and stakeholders regarding program activities, student progress, and any relevant concerns.
8. Professional Development: Stay informed about current trends and best practices in girls' sports education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Coaching certification in football
- Experience playing and/or coaching football, with a strong understanding of the game's principles and techniques.
- Previous experience working in similar role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusion in sports.
