About us

Mater Ecclesiae is a new and growing Catholic Multi Academy Trust in Preston, Lancashire. We currently consist of seven primary schools and one secondary school. In line with the Bishop’s vision for schools across the Diocese of Lancaster we are due to grow to thirteen schools before the end of the calendar year; when fully formed we will consist of twenty primary and three secondary schools.

As part of our growth plan, we are now looking to appoint our first Governance & Compliance Partner. You will be key to ensuring that our Trust operates within legal frameworks and has a very high standard across all constitutional requirements.

The Role

As the founding Governance & Compliance Partner, you will work with a wide range of stakeholders. You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to embed robust governance and compliance across our Trust. You will also work with the Chief Financial Officer, schools and their local governing bodies to ensure we share best practice and maintain excellent communication.

Central to this will be building systems and processes across all areas of your role, from organising and monitoring meetings and training, to getting involved with detailed areas of strategic development such as risk management and policy compliance.

You will be resilient and as enthusiastic as we are about the future of our Trust, appreciate the privilege of making a key contribution to setting the scene for the future success of our Trust, and be able to see the bigger picture.

Safeguarding

Our Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share the commitment and undergo an enhanced DBS check. The successful candidate will be appointed under the terms and conditions of a CES contract which they will be required to sign. The employer will be the Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Multi Academy Trust.
