The Teacher Apprenticeship provides a fee-free, salaried route for graduates to enter the teaching profession while gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in 12 months, allowing apprentices to earn while they learn. Twelve months of direct training followed by up to 3 months for the End Point Assessment (EPA).
About The Cambridge Maths School
Cambridge Maths School (CMS) is a new specialist sixth form developed in association with the University of Cambridge, which opened in September 2023 with a focus on pioneering learning and increasing diversity in the field of mathematical sciences. The school provides a diverse range of young people with access to a unique educational experience, located in bespoke facilities on Mill Road in Cambridge. The school focuses only on mathematical sciences and offers A levels in mathematics, further mathematics, biology, chemistry, computer science and physics.
The school is seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Graduate Apprentice Teacher of Physics to work in a unique and talented department to realise the vision and ambitions of the school. We are looking for an excellent graduate with a passion for their subject who is keen to become an exceptional teacher and who is keen to do this by getting into the classroom straight away. Our in-house Postgraduate Teacher Training Programme offers a bespoke blend of in-school mentoring and university-led training to ensure you’re fully supported in becoming an exceptional teacher.
In order to meet the requirements of the PGCE, the successful applicant would also be expected to work part of their week in Impington Village College, one of the UK’s leading IB World Schools, where they will experience teaching in KS3/4. Working across the two institutions will provide a unique training opportunity and ensure you have access to a truly comprehensive experience. You will be very well supported by friendly, experienced and highly specialist mentors.

Primary Purpose of the Role
Initially supervising classes of students with support from other teachers with an expectation that they will be preparing and delivering high quality physics lessons later in the year (up to 60% of a full-time teacher’s timetable).
