New City College have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to manage a new specialist team delivering SaLT to students within both our SEND discrete curriculum area and across our mainstream cohort. This is a new ‘in-house’ service which will ensure all learners with Speech and Language Therapy requirements receive the correct, tailored support to help them to achieve good outcomes on their pathway to adulthood.

 

We are looking for a committed and experienced Speech and Language Therapist, who will manage a team of Salt therapists to assess, diagnose and devise support for a caseload of students, provide intervention and evaluate evidence-based outcomes for both individuals and groups of students. This will include developing programmes for students with speech, language and communication needs and SEMH.

Reporting to the Group Curriculum Director – Supported Learning, candidates will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with teaching and other staff and parents, providing assessment, training and therapy programmes, and will be expected to oversee to the development of Speech and Language therapy at the college.

It is essential that candidates are a Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Candidates will have knowledge and experience of direct work with students and families where there are a variety of needs, along with experience of working in a similar role within a school or college setting.
