About the Role and You

Contract type: Full-time, permanent

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30pm including three Saturdays and Prep evening duties a term, as well as parents’ evenings and curriculum events

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Start date: September 2024

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching from Year 6 to A-level, including Textiles, Graphic Design and Fine Art.
  • Planning, delivering and assessing engaging Art lessons.
  • Foster a learning environment where every pupil feels valued and nurtured.
  • Bringing learning to life with hands-on projects and interactive activities.
  • Empower students to think creatively and embrace the endless possibilities of art.
  • Lead and inspire a team of talented art educators, fostering a collaborative and supportive culture of creativity and innovation.

About You

We're seeking a visionary and dedicated Head of Art who:

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Art or a related field.
  • Has QTS (essential).
  • Has at least 3 year’s experience teaching.
  • Leadership experience (desired).
  • Has experience designing and implementing motivating and engaging schemes of work.
  • Is flexible, adaptable and enthusiastic.
  • Has a passion for fostering creativity.

Lucton School is a thriving, co-educational, independent day and boarding school set within the idyllic Herefordshire countryside, welcoming students from 6 months to 18 years.

Students at Lucton benefit from small classes, a friendly atmosphere and an idyllic rural location. The Preparatory School consists of Nursery (6 months-4 years), Pre-Prep (Reception-Year 2) and Prep (Year 3-Year 5).

Senior education continues until the age of 18 with the Middle School (Year 6-Year 8), Senior School (Year 9-Year 11) and Sixth Form (Year 12-Year 13).
