Knightsbridge School has a wonderful opportunity for a creative and inspirational Head of Art to lead all the art provision across the school. Leading a small team you will have a broad range of responsibilities in addition to your teaching including the Art curriculum, coaching generalist teachers in the teaching of art and school displays. Knightsbridge School takes huge pride in its arts provision, including music, dance and whole school initiatives such as Art Week and school drama and music productions are key to this role.

You will be an experienced Art Teacher, confident in a variety of media and eager to try out new ideas, constantly developing your practice and your teaching. As a role model to other teachers, you will have the ability to enthuse others about art and be collaborative in your approach, as well as highly organised. Our beautiful Grade II listed building provides the perfect backdrop to your creativity and inventiveness.

Knightsbridge School is a pre-preparatory and preparatory school, educating 370 boys and girls ages 3 – 13, with a unique sense of vision centred on the KS Code. We offer a supportive team environment and an ethos of developing and growing our staff members, including offering a tailored leadership development programme.

About Knightsbridge School

Knightsbridge School is an independent, mainstream, mixed preparatory school for children aged three to thirteen. Located in central London, it has approximately 398 students. 

Knightsbridge School opened in September 2006, housed in two mansions, and has since redone much of its décor. There are now well-equipped classrooms, a science laboratory, an ICT suite, an in-house catered dining hall, a performing arts studio, music rooms, a library and an art studio.

Vision and values 

The preparatory school aims to establish a love of learning in each student by creating a positive and stimulating environment. Teachers strive to provide a holistic, balanced and varied curriculum so each pupil can reach their full academic potential. The values they promote are: mutual respect, independent thinking, positive attitudes and participation. 

Knightsbridge School concentrates on classical education, with an emphasis on literacy and reasoning, as well as encouraging children to take part in extra-curricular activities. It offers an extensive programme, from judo and fencing to ballet and cookery. A modern language, either Italian, Spanish, Mandarin or Greek, must also be taken alongside French lessons.
