The Science Department has recently moved into a brand new building housing 10 new, state of the art teaching labs. The department is up and coming with a supportive culture and fantastic subject specialists.
There is a focus on teaching and learning as well as professional development. The academy teaches AQA Science at both KS4 (Core/Additional & Triple routes) and KS5. The curriculum at KS3 is designed by the department to support student progress into these key stages, with a strong emphasis on skills. The Science Department Team consists of 16 teachers plus 4 Science Technicians and LSA support for SEND Students.
Greensward Academy is looking for:
- An exceptional classroom teacher who demonstrates high standards of delivery in a consistent manner.
- Someone who is committed to improving achievement across all key stages and who understands the strategies required to accomplish this.
- A strong leader with the ability to inspire both staff and students.
- Enthusiasm, a winning personality, and an imaginative approach to the delivery of the curriculum area and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will:
- Support the Director Science and to deputise when necessary.
- Ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying in the curriculum area in accordance with the aims of the Academy and the curricular policies determined by the Board of Governors and Principal.
- Be responsible for leading and developing the subject areas.
- Develop and enhance the teaching practice of others.
- Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students within the subject area and as a Form Tutor.
