Our Foundation's goal is to advance the education of adults and children, particularly in the field of computers, computer science and related subjects.To further our work, we are looking for a Head of Curriculum Development.
Job Summary
The Raspberry Pi Head of Curriculum Development is a full-time position, reporting to the Head of Education at the Raspberry Pi Foundation. In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for creating a curriculum to direct the development of all education materials generated by the Raspberry Pi Foundation for both formal and informal learning. The aim of the curriculum is to provide a structured framework of desired learning outcomes from KS2 to KS5, against which all existing and future learning resources generated by the Foundation can be mapped. Part of this process will require the candidate to review existing material and suggest appropriate changes, as well as specifying and commissioning the development of new material in conjunction with the Head of Education. Specific duties will include:
- Develop a Raspberry Pi curriculum
- Create an overview of our current curriculum from resources by identifying concepts, skills, and subject areas
- Set up an advisory board to give feedback about curriculum that includes interested parties (academics, industry, community, etc)
- Identify gaps in resources based on curriculum
- Create resources for individual learners and teachers
- Help devise pathways and progression through resources
- Measure impact and usefulness of resources
- Work with Raspberry Pi Certified Educators and contractors to develop and quality-assure resources
Experience
- Experience working in education, for an education organisation, or in the voluntary sector
- Experience of technology in education
- Experience of writing and developing educational materials within a curriculum
- Project management and quality assurance in a complex environment
- Experience of monitoring and evaluating systems and research methodology?
- Networks across professionals and organisations in the education and technology ?arenas in the voluntary sector. ?
Skills
- A creative, solution-focused approach to making decisions
- Ability to implement and promote organisational decisions and policies positively
- Clear and precise writing skills
- IT skills at a level that supports report writing, email, internet and database.
Education
- A wide base of further education and training to degree level or equivalent in areas relevant to the job description
- No single specific qualification is required, but evidence of recent continuing professional development in a professional area relevant to the post will be required.

- Must demonstrate a passion for technology
- Enthusiastic and willingness to be flexible in achieving project outcomes
- Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and occasionally across the globe
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends and stay overnight where necessary
