Required, for the academic year 2015-2016: Head of Department - English to lead and manage an enthusiastic and highly motivated team of teachers across the whole school.

EBIS are looking for hardworking, enthusiastic and creative teachers with outstanding subject knowledge and well rounded classroom skills to lead and manage a series of newly formed whole school departments.

Working across all key stages from KS1 – KS4 (and eventually KS5) The Heads of Department will be responsible for overseeing the development of their specialist areas within the school. Most likely based in KS3 (although not fixed) the Heads of Department will be outstanding classroom practitioners in their own right and will be looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to lead a department to gain whole school management experience.

All Heads of Department will join the existing school Extended Leadership Team.

The main aims of these roles are to:

  1. Ensure that the teaching of the subject throughout the school is of the highest quality.
  2. To ensure that the curriculum and delivery is up to date and reflects developments and initiatives within the UK.
  3. To coordinate the subject across the whole school.
  4. To oversee the subject development in the interests of the pupils and the staff responsible.

Suitable candidates will already have some management experience of their subject or will be well qualified, highly motivated and passionate about their subject and looking for a new challenge in an International context.
