Cardinal Pole is a successful, oversubscribed school in Hackney, with a good OFSTED and graded Outstanding for progress post 16. We are a vibrant community based in a new building. Promotions, retirements and changes to the school structure, curriculum and increases in staffing funded by the pupil premium have given rise to a number of new opportunities. We are looking to recruit staff keen to support the school on its journey to outstanding. In return we offer a supportive environment for NQTs and experienced staff.

The Governors seek to appoint an enthusiastic Head of Department – ICT and Business. The successful candidate should be committed to teaching across the 11-18 range and preferably have an additional ability to teach A Level. We are looking for an exceptional ICT teacher to head up the department whilst promoting excellent teaching and learning in order to secure outstanding outcomes, and who works well with staff and pupils to inspire a love of ICT.

The department is highly successful and well-resourced with seven experienced staff. The school currently offers GCSE, ICT, Computer Science & Business, as well as BTEC Business and V Cert Business at KS4. At KS5 ICT, Computer Science, Business and Economics are offered. ICT/Computer Science is a compulsory offer at KS3.

We are looking for the following:

  • Ability to teach across the full range with the potential to teach AS and A Level.
  • An outstanding classroom practitioner.
  • A person committed to the highest standard of achievement for all students.
  • Be committed to the schools ethos and vision.
  • Experience of leadership in ICT.
