We began a rapid journey to become beyond outstanding a year ago. Our aspiration and expectations are clear that we aim to rapidly become one of the leading academies across the UK. We always aim for UK or World best in everything that we do and recruiting the best staff is key to this.

Following complete change of most aspects of the academy throughout last year and with a purely positive ethos, a highly successful recruitment campaign saw us re-launching the academy fully staffed, with one of the most dynamic staff bodies that exist in any school.

Although we are fully staffed, we are now looking to add even more capacity by finding some special people to add the ‘icing’. Is this you? We are seeking a motivated, passionate and committed Head of Drama who will continue our rapid progress towards outstanding. To put it even more simply, we want people who are superb at their job! We need passion, energy, commitment, ability, positivity and a willingness to go beyond expectation.

September 2014 signalled an exciting new chapter in our journey towards ‘beyond outstanding’ as we launched our new House system. The House system underpins everything that we do and creates a keen sense of competition and belonging within the academy and local community. Our close links with the Duke of Buccleuch are reflected in the names for our Houses which are taken from elements of his family’s coat of arms. The introduction of a new uniform, in which House colours dominate, is a visible sign of the new sense of pride which is now a feature of our exceptional learning environment.

Our philosophy is simple. We challenge and support each and every child to achieve more than they thought themselves capable of, whilst at the same time finding school life to be more enjoyable than they thought it was supposed to be. Mature and mutually respectful relationships characterise our community and we strive for excellence in every way, leaving no stone unturned.

Catering for those aged 4-19, our aim is to be a beacon school in the region, be respected as a beyond outstanding academy and be recognised as both a national and international model of innovation and best practice. Our teaching, learning and CPD support has already been recognised and nominated by external agencies for excellence and as a model for superb teacher support.

Staff live over a wide area from Cambridgeshire in the East to Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Rutland and Oundle.

You will have Qualified Teacher Status and a proven track record within a secondary school. Excellent professional development is available to all staff.
