Job overview

Drive the delivery of education to transform end of life care.

St Joseph’s Hospice delivers the highest quality palliative care to people affected by serious illness. Effective education and development is central to fulfilling our mission.

We are seeking an experienced leader who can articulate a clear vision for internal and external education, translate strategy into practice, and help us raise our profile as a leading provider of palliative and end of life care education across North East London and beyond. This will involve harnessing both traditional and innovative approaches and engaging with internal and external stakeholders including commissioners, funders, health and social care leads and academic partners to get the very best from every member of our team. You will also actively develop education externally, and the income from doing so, through grants and other sources.

You will have a degree or equivalent experience in Education, or HR Development, and you will bring a proven record in strategic learning and development roles. Experience in Health and Social care would be desirable. In particular, you will be a capable manager of budgets and people, with a strong business mindset and a high level of innovation. Above all, you will be passionate about workforce development and the possibilities of education and you will have the drive to build on our record of success to transform the experience for patients and families receiving palliative care.

We offer 27 days holiday plus public holidays and excellent occupational pension scheme.

Continuity of NHS Pension Scheme is available.

Applicants are subject to an enhanced DBS check (previously CRB).
