The Opportunity:
An experienced, enthusiastic and committed candidate is required to lead an already successful English and Media Department (achieving 88% A*-C in GCSE English Language last academic year) in to its’ next stage of development. The opportunity would suit a current Head of Department, or someone ready for the next step of their career.
Currently the department offers:
- KS3 National Curriculum
- GCSE English Language & Literature (Edexcel)
- AS/A2 Level English Literature (Edexcel)
- AS/A2 Level Media Studies (CIE)
- With a view to offering both AS/A2 Level English Language and GCSE Media Studies in the near future.
About you:
We seek an inspirational, talented, dynamic and enthusiastic leader to take the English and Media Department forward.
The successful candidate would possess the following attributes and skills:
- An ‘Outstanding’ teacher, able to share good practice and develop the teaching capacity of others;
- Passionate about your subject and embody the values of RIS in delivering a child initiated, inquiry based curriculum;
- Strong work-ethic, well-organised with the ability to inspire students;
- Passionate about providing enriched learning opportunities for students in and out of the classroom;
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to harness individuals’ potential and ideas bringing them together in one cohesive team.
You hold as a minimum, a B.ED or B.A & PGCE or equivalent.
