Job overview
We are looking for an innovative and forward thinking Head of Department or a very experienced English teacher to lead a developing department in our bilingual school for March 2016, or as soon as possible thereafter. The role will involve working closely with the Middle and Primary Section coordinators and teaching in the Senior Section.
The right candidate will be passionate about English, both language and literature, and have the vision to drive the department forward by producing inspirational and challenging schemes of work for pupils with a comprehensive range of abilities. We offer IB Literature, Literature/Language and Language courses and therefore IB Diploma experience and knowledge of the MYP and PYP programmes would be beneficial.
A teaching qualification, PGCE or equivalent is necessary, while a good level of Spanish would be helpful.
The contract is initially for three years and includes an attractive compensation package at international level.
Craighouse School is a highly successful and innovative independent school in Santiago, Chile. We are a bilingual, co-educational institution with over 1.800 pupils aged 3 to 18. We are an IB World School in which the International Baccalaureate's Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma programmes are implemented. Successful candidates should be self-motivated, innovative, flexible and have very high standards and expectations of their pupils. A minimum of two years' teaching experience is required.
