Westminster City School is a successful 11-18 boys’ Christian non-denominational comprehensive academy with a mixed sixth form. Ours is a lively and vibrant learning community situated in the heart of central London with all the challenges and advantages of an inner city school. The school was recently judged as ‘Good’ by OFSTED with an outstanding curriculum and governance.

We are seeking to recruit an outstanding Head of Department for English to lead this successful department. You will be an outstanding English teacher with a proven track record of raising attainment with the ability to lead our English team to even greater success.

In English, we have a relentless focus on the quality of teaching and learning. The department is privileged to have a Lead Practitioner as well as experienced and dynamic Key Stage Leads. Alongside this, we facilitate extra support for students in the form of English Intervention Partners who deliver tailored intervention from GCSE exam practice to Latin for Literacy. The department is at an exciting point in its development in planning for a rigorous, enriching curriculum that not only instils a love for language and literature, but also prepares young people for their future lives. You will be leading a strong and enthusiastic team across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
