Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a passionate historian who will lead the History Department in powerful knowledge, curriculum rigour and expert teaching practice – leading to outstanding outcomes for students. History is popular and successful subject throughout KS3, 4 and 5.

King Solomon High School is a unique and wonderful Jewish secondary school set in the London Borough of Redbridge. Our school is inclusive, and our students and staff come from a range of cultural and religious backgrounds.

  • Are you a history or politics subject specialist?
  • Are you passionate about raising standards in secondary schools?
  • Are you committed to excellence and rigour, to provide a world class educational experience?
  • Do you have drive, vision and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of children?
  • Can you hold yourself and others to high standards?
  • Are you well read and well informed about educational research and best practice in teaching and learning?

If your answer is yes to all of these questions then you might have found the perfect role and be the right person to join the school’s newly appointed Headteacher, in leading this school out of Requires Improvement.

The school is currently going through a period of rapid change and improvement. The new Headteacher is recruiting new staff to transform all aspects of the school. This is an exciting opportunity to lead real and meaningful change, lead innovation and be part of a great success story.

The newly appointed Headteacher is ambitious for the school’s future, strives for excellence and has high expectations of staff and students.

Please read the applicant information pack for full details of the role, how to apply and dates of visits/tours of the school.

The deadline for all applications is 9am on Thursday 9th May 2024. However, we will interview suitable candidates as and when we receive applications. We therefore reserve the right to close applications before the published closing date. Candidates interested in the role should apply as soon as possible if they would like to be considered before the closing date.

Candidates can book a phone call with the Headteacher or the current Head of History to discuss the role. To arrange this, please email recruitment@kshsonline.uk

Please email all applications and enquiries to recruitment@kshsonline.uk

All applicants will be subject to the safer recruitment process, which includes an enhanced DBS check.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, who can show a commitment to the school's Jewish values and ethos.
