Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and experienced Head of Department – Humanities, who will provide leadership and management to improve outcomes and build on solid foundations to make this an area of strength within the school. This person would be required to teach Geography and History.

Dagenham Park is a very exciting place to be. The Humanities team are friendly and supportive, sharing ideas and good practice in an enthusiastic environment.

History and Geography are taught to all students in KS3, and are a popular options choice for students at KS4, contributing to the school’s provision of a broad and balanced curriculum. There is a growing interest in both subjects at KS5 with GCSE and A-Level.

Leading our dedicated team, you'll drive innovation, instill a passion for Humanities, and ensure our students are equipped for success in their academic journey.

Promotion of the spiritual ethos and pastoral care are also important factors within the school.

Dagenham Park is a mixed, multi-ethnic 11 - 18 Voluntary Controlled Church of England school. Our building provides a safe and modern environment for both our students and staff.

The school, who achieved the Ofsted rating ‘Good’ in January 2020, is located within easy reach of central London via the District Line and easily accessible via the A13. There is a high-quality induction and extensive in-house CPD program available to staff as part of our strong commitment to staff development with a wide range of experience in the DP6 team. All staff have access to the café facilities and regular social events organised by the Wellbeing Committee.

We have extensive grounds which are used by the wider community, and we can offer free car parking for all staff. The school is in Dagenham, which offers good transport links by tube, train and road.

Visits to the school are welcomed or should you wish to discuss this role further please contact the Headteachers PA, Mrs Natasha Trayler.

This post is suitable for experienced teachers.
