Job overview

A Head of IT is also required to lead IT across the school. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the school’s IT development strategy over the next few years, with considerable scope for new opportunities. IT is a key area for the school to develop further and as such, new and innovative ideas are welcomed.  Candidates should have the required subject expertise and an ability to offer leadership and support to teaching colleagues across the school.

Liwa is a rapidly growing schools group which has one established school and is opening another in August this year. The Liwa group has gone a long way to realise its’ vision to educate students to high academic international standards so that they can live and work in a global community, whilst enjoying the rich culture and traditions of the UAE. The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified teacher status, with a UK or internationally recognised equivalent qualification
  • Successful leadership experience
  • Teaching experience of at least 5 years that demonstrates the ability to deliver the highest academic standards
  • Ability and expertise to lead a dynamic and enthusiastic secondary/IT team to achieve excellent results
  • A commitment to the community of Liwa International School and the Al Ain culture and heritage

Liwa International School is a mixed Islamic all-through school situated in the city of Al Ain in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is an independent day school with English language instruction and 86% Emirati students. A larger than average size for a school of its type, the school has a school roll of almost 2,500 for students from KG1 to Grade 12 level, between the ages of 3-18. Standardised tests include MAP and SAT1&2 EMSA.

Liwa was founded in 1992, starting off in a villa with only 60 students and growing to become one of the largest schools in the country.
