Job overview

An outstanding teacher of Mandarin is required to join CLS for September 2024 for a one-year appointment. The School has a long-standing record of high academic achievement (94.6% of A-level and Pre-U entries gained A* to B/D1-M1 grades in 2023). There is also much happening in terms of co-curricular activities, and all staff are expected to be fully involved in School life.

The post will involve teaching Mandarin to years 7 13. We follow the CAIE IGCSE specification. We offer the HSK in Sixth Form and every year pupils go on to high-tariff universities to read Mandarin and other associated courses. There is a rich supra-curricular programme as well, including competitions, cultural societies and trips.

We aspire to attract a staff that matches the social and cultural diversity of the CLS community.
