CIS is a Mid-Market Plus School which caters to students from FS1 – Yr.13, offering the EYFS and National Curriculum for England, the school has a deservedly high reputation and is popular with families across Dubai.
The Post: Head of Middle School
The School has over 2500 children and over 135 teachers. We are now looking to appoint a Head of Middle School to support the Principal and to lead the school and to further develop the already strong provision of the curriculum.
- To improve student attainment and progress in Years 3-9 against international standards through the rigorous use of data and target setting
- To lead the development of learning and teaching practices in Year 3-9 through a coaching model; in order to align them with intentional best practice
- To implement the New National curriculum and improve staff understanding and assessment of the curriculum to ensure robust reporting to students and parents.
- To identify and lead quality professional development for teachers
- To develop a culture of excellence based on continual reflection and improvement.
- To work closely with the Principal and leadership team to establish the strategic direction for the school with a focus on quality learning & teaching, linked with the GEMS expectation of excellent education and best practice in Middle Years education.
- To lead and manage significant aspects of the school, under the overall direction of the Principal.
- To assist the Principal with the financial management of school, procurement, staffing, enrolment and admissions.
- To develop and maintain excellent partnerships with parents and community members.
- Other responsibilities as directed by the Principal.
Head of Middle School
To be considered for this appointment you will -
- Have a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in the Middle Years Section.
- Have appropriate senior leadership experience within a similar school, and be seeking the next challenging stage in your career.
- Hold a Post-Graduation Degree in any mainstream teaching subject / discipline along with a teaching qualification.
- Have an excellent understanding of the new National curriculum. Preferably having led the implementation of the new National Curriculum.
- Have proven leadership and communication abilities coupled with efficient competencies in the area of people development.
- Have high expectations of yourself and the school you work in, a professional working ethos and sound Middle years educational philosophy to drive the education agenda across various categories of GEMS schools.

Cambridge International School Dubai is a Foundation Stage to Year 13 School, teaching the National Curriculum for England including a range of IGCSE, AS level, A level, and BTEC qualifications. With more than 2500 students from over 65 different nationalities, the diversity of our students are one of our greatest strengths. They are confident, friendly, highly motivated, morally aware, culturally respectful and socially responsible.
